From the South Greetings from the South. From the East Congratulations Brother Chance Wunderlich, our youngest EA, and J.W. Derek Vaneske on his first EA degree conferral. I hope everyone had great Holidays with time spent with all January 21st 2016 their friends and loved one's. It was great to see everyone in January, especially at our January Installation. I believe we will have a great year this year, especially with the talented officer's that have been elected. May the Great Architect watch over us, as we labor this year in His name. On another thought, Webster's defines esoteric as understood by, or intended for, only a select few; Secret; Mysterious. The opposite being exoteric, which is defined as readily understood; commonplace. Freemasonry is a system of morality veiled in allegories and illustrated by symbols. There is no direct meaning in the symbolism of Freemasonry, no " one size fit's all" answer on our journey through life or spiritual questions that we may have. That being said, the answers to the questions that arise to the mysteries we are exposed to can be understood at an individual level. For example, The 47th Problem of Euclid has been explained and defined in many papers written by several Brother Mason's, which have all been excellent work on explaining their interpretations. The main focus is the journey itself for the answers to the mysteries that may present themselves to us. It's the journey that builds us spiritually and strengthens our bond with the Great Architect of the Universe. That is what makes the esoteric work so meaningful when we embrace those mysteries and truly understand why we left the West and traveled to the East. Bro. Derek Vaneske J.W. Good evening Brethren, I am very happy so far with how the year is progressing, and I would like to take this opportunity to make some thank-yous. First, I welcome and congratulate Brother Jeff Taylor’s lovely wife Terri as an Honorary Perpetual Member of Fort Myers Beach Lodge. As far as I am aware, and being a member here for roughly six years, Terri is the only woman I have ever seen given this distinction as a female Honorary Member! This is quite an unusual and neat thing, and it makes me happy to have her as our “sister” here at FMB362. Congratulations to the hard-working Brothers Frank Sherkus and Tony DeOliveira on completing their third and final catechisms. It was a great honor for me to present their Lambskin Aprons, and I thank Brother Jim Kerhsaw for his astounding Bible presentation. Speaking of Brother Kershaw, I welcome him to FMB362 as a plural member, as well as Brother John Vance as a dual member with us now. It’s a real pleasure to have you both with us. Welcome Brother Chance Wunderlich as our newest Entered Apprentice. As he is a 6th or 7th generation Mason now, I have high hopes and prospects for him. Finally, as a reminder to the Officer Line, I am planning our first quarterly Officer’s Meeting on Thursday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m. See you guys there! Joshua Calero - W.M.

2016 Officer Installation From the West Greetings from the West Brothers, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2016 LODGE OFFICERS! PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY OF MANDY STEWART. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT PHOTOS! mandystewartphotography.com I am excited for another year at our uplifting Lodge and would like to thank all my fellow brothers for electing me to the West. It is a great privilege to serve our lodge as Senior Warden and I will do my best to help us achieve greatness. I would like to congratulate our newly elected Worshipful Master Josh Calero, and all of the other elected and appointed officers as well. I would also like to congratulate our newly raised Brothers who begin this year as Master Masons. This is an exciting time to reflect upon what it means to be a Mason. I came across a quote that made me think of all the working tools we learn about in our journey to becoming master masons. These tools are our guides to our destiny such as the stars were to the seafarers. They are the ideals we use to help us achieve our full potential. “Ideals are like stars. You will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but, like the seafaring man, you choose them as your guides, and, following them, you will reach your destiny.” Carl Schurz In closing, I would like us to remember that a Lodge is not the building, but the people who comprise it. It's going to be an exciting year with all of the potential we have as brothers! Sincerely Yours, MJ Kenny Senior Warden
