The UNICEF was started in December 1946 by the United Nations. They provided food, clothes and health care to children dealing with disease and famine. Their main focus is to reduce proverty, through partnerships that will create investments in children's survival, development and protection.

The UNICEF's mission statement is "UNICEF is mandated by the United Nation's General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.

A law that came about because of the UNICEF is the Declaration of Rights of Children which defines children's rights to protection, shelter, education and good nutrition. The UNICEF have also held lots of campaigns, drives and conventions. The UNICEF is here to convince people that all children deserve to show their full potential in a better world.
