Introduction

I chose, Walter Disney because ever since I was little I would always want to turn on the T.V to find Mickey Mouse on the screen. I remember begging my parents to get me one of his movies. I would watch him 24/7, and I still do today! He would alway inspire my to make new things, to blow my imagination as high as it can go! When I found out we could chose an animaton for this project, I couldn't think of anyone better then the one and only, Walter Disney. Walt Disney is considered an animation pioneer, because of his famous creation of Mickey Mouse, and how he has took the world of animation to the next level!

Biography

    Walter Disney, was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago. Disney was one of five children. He lived in Marceline, Missouri, where he enjoyed painting, drawing and selling his pictures to family and friends. Later, Disney went to McKinley High School, where he took photography and drawing classes and was even contributing cartoonist for the school newspaper.  His brother, Roy, gave him a job at the Pesmen-Rubin Art Studio. From there, Disney worked at Kansas City Film Ad Company, where he learned to make commercials based on cutout animation, and began experimenting with a camera, doing hand-drawen animation. Disney and his brother Roy soon moved to Hollywood, where they began Disney Brothers' Studio.

     In 1928, Disney co-directed an animated short called "Steamboat Willie" which included, Mickey & Minnie Mouse. The next year, Disney created "Silly Symphonies", which introduced Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. One of his most popular cartoons was, "Flowersand Trees", the first animated film in color to win an Oscar. At the end of 1937, Disney released "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", the first full-length animated film. Starting in 1955, Disney created the Mickey Mouse club for television. In 1964, Marry Poppins, was the last major success that Walt Disney produced. It had a mix of live action and animation. 

     Disneyland theme park opened on July 17, 1955 in Anaheim, California. Disney wanted a place where children and their families could interact with Disney characters and enjoy rides. In a very short time, the park was an international tourist destination. During the construction of his second themepark in Florida, Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966, at the age of 65. As a tribute, his brother Roy, carried on his plans to finish the them park which opened in 1971 under the name of Walt Disney World.
