Private Information What is private and personal information? Anything that gives out important information about yourself is considered private and should not be shared. A site should never make you feel uncomfortable. It should be a site designed for kids and it should not ask for personal information. Safe sites often need your parent’s permission to join. Any information shared on the internet is available to anyone. Always answer one question before sharing pictures, videos and attachments - "Is this something that my parents, teachers and grandparents would be fine sharing?" Again, once it's on the internet, it's out and very public. Even if you delete it later, you have no way of knowing if it was copied or forwarded. Family pictures should not be uploaded without prior permission from other family members or your parent's consent. And please do not open photos and attachments from strangers. Finally, never forward anyone else's emails, photos, attachments without their approval. Keep Your Guard Up! NEVER TALK TO STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET! Faces are hidden on the internet. Any stranger can pretend to be a friend and you have no way of knowing who they are because they are behind the mask of the computer. The same rules that you know about strangers, apply to the internet. We don't open up doors for strangers. We never talk to strangers or follow them somewhere.
