I LOVE the concept
of REUSE & gift bags so much I want to
share how you can make them YOURSELF.

o make your own gift
bags you can use any fabric.
It could be an old tea towel, a
curtain, or piece of clothing. Reusing
materials is fun and makes the bag
more interesting and attractive.
Making the bag takes no more then twenty minutes.
Remember, there are many ways to make a bag
and there are no rules. This shows you how to
make the bags Bag-all sells; there is also a video
on how to make them on www.bag-all.com.
Good luck! And do send us photos of yours!

This is HOW
you do it:
1 CUT YOUR FABRIC into a rectangle shape.
We are making a small bag so we used the
measurement 50x40 cm.
2 LOCATE WHERE YOUR BUTTON hole is going. This
is where your string is going to come out so it needs
to be located in the center 10 to 15 cm from the top.
If you have a program on your sewing machine to
stitch button holes, use it to create the opening for
the string.
3 ZIGZAG ALL SIDES of the fabric. This makes the
bag more sturdy and prevents fraying of the fabric.
4 FOLD THE FABRIC in half along the button hole.
Your bag is inside out at this point. Sew a straight
seam along the side that is going to be the back
of the bag.
5 TO CREATE THE BOTTOM of the bag fold in
the sides 5 cm on each side. The bag is still
inside out. Sew a straight line across the bottom.
6 TURN THE BAG THE RIGHT WAY and fold the
bottom flat like a paper bag.
7 TO CREATE A TUNNEL for your string fold the top
of the bag and iron it flat.
8 STITCH ON EACH SIDE of the button.
9 THREAD THE RIBBON through the tunnel. You
can use a safety pin or a paper clip to do it.
Voila!
Your bag is done.
Enjoy!
