Hello, This is Tanette here from the Waihoanga Centre for Well-being which is situated at the base of the Tararua ranges & next to the Otaki River. I am wanting to introduce our Lodge to your department within Toi Whakaari as a potential `Grassroots Platform' for you to host a student or teacher workshop, conference, gathering, christmas party, team building, Hui etc. We have had students from your school utilise the Lodge in the past and there has only been fantastic feedback regarding their experience. I invite you to have a look at the picture booklet below, which includes a video, showing the uniqueness of the Waihoanga meeting place & how we can cater for your specific needs. If you have any questions or require any further information please go to our website www.waihoanga.co.nz or please phone me on 0212622049 Warm wishes and we look forward to seeing you here in the future Tanette Hickey PS. If there is anyone else within Toi Whakaari that you think may be looking for a venue in the future for a group can you please forward this email onto them, thank you.

"We needed somewhere central for a dozen staff from all over the country to meet and plan together. Waihoanga was just right: only an hour or so from Wellington Airport; removed from distractions so we could focus; in a beautiful setting overlooking the Otaki Gorge; pleasantly informal with sofas and log-burners; plenty of delicious, locally grown food and fresh fruit; and run by two very welcoming and engaged hosts. We loved it."

Lush Land & Clear Water

The Waihōanga Centre For Well-being is located approx. one hour Nth of Wellington & one hour South of Palmerston Nth, situated on the banks of the Otaki River & only a stones throw from the Tararua Ranges.  The centre lies upon 12 acres of land which is home to amazing lush native and exotic forest with a pristine stream (offering divine drinking water) flowing down over a secret waterfall and into the mighty (swimmable) Otaki River. The bird life is rich in diversity and loud in song including the presence of Tui, Ruru, Kereru & Piwakawaka. Other treasures of the land consist of a  high & low adventure ropes course (certified for use),  developing organic gardens, glow worms and beautiful walks through the forest and down to the river.

"We were a new group meeting to establish ourselves and focus on our future. We have some big ideas and lots of energy, but how will we bring it together? When you're doing that kind of deep work, it's important to have a venue where you feel supported and nurtured. We needed a place where we would be held both by the space and by the hosts while we were doing our work. We found just that place in the Waihoanga Centre, the property is quiet and beautiful and we just loved working hard together inside and then moving outside for lunch. Those of us who stayed overnight just couldn't believe the stars! I highly recommend it!"

"I would like to say ahttps://ssl.gstatic.com/ui/v1/icons/mail/images/cleardot.gif huge thank you to all of your team who made my retreat so amazing.  It's always a team effort and I was very grateful for everyone's efforts, from helping with the beds, to the super delicious food, the warmth of the place with the addition of the lovely blue new curtains and just the kindness and positive attitude of all that work there.  I loved what you have done around the place from my last visit, and everyone just thought it was like a magical hobbitville when we walked to the yurt on Sat night with the fairy lights etc, was so gorgeous.  I always enjoy my escape there and find it so relaxing, feels like my second home!"
