Walt Disney         By:Max Marquez

I chose walt Disney because he is the most recognized animator ever. He owned the biggest animation company ever. He is one of the first animators ever, he is a true pioneer. He created the first full-length animation movie ever. He started a chain reaction of animated movies. Nothing can amount to what he started.

Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago Illinois he lived a portion of his life in Marceline, Missouri. In 1911 he moved to Kansas city and worked a summer job at the railroad station. He went to Mckinley High School in Chicago where he took drawing and photography classes and was a newspaper cartoonist. He dropped out to join the army and couldn’t because he was underage, so he went to France and joined Red Cross to be an ambulance driver. He returned to Kansas in 1919 he worked at a film ad company in Kansas. He decided to create his own animation company. Then him and his brother moved to Hollywood. He soon found out that Winkler had stolen the rights to all the Disney characters including Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Then Disney's wife and Iwerks and the Disney brothers started to produce a character named Mickey Mouse and started making animated shorts with the new character. Mickey first was in Plane Crazy and The Gallopin Gaucho. Disney then made Silly Symphonies with all of Mickeys new friends. It turned out to be one of the most popular tv shows ever. On December 21, 1937 Snow White and the Seven Dwarves priemered in Los Angeles. It was the first full lenth animated movie ever created. It grossed $1.499 million, which is suprising considering it was during the depression. He then created even more hit animated titles in the years to come. The last major motion picture he made was Mary Poppins. In July 17, 1955 Disney Land was created, it was worth $17 million. Disney was making plans for Disney World in 1966,  he was diagnosed with lung cancer and died in 1966 while Disney World was under construction.
