Autumn Quarterly Newsletter October 2016 December 2016 President s Message Last month the CEO of Wells Fargo Bank the largest U S bank faced Congress because of fraudulent accounts being opened throughout the country to meet astronomical sales goals Much was made of the 185 million fine the bank was assessed The public outcry over this revelation caused me to take a look back at fines assessed on US banks since the financial collapse in 2008 As of 2014 the total was a staggering 128 BILLION and the fines for various actions continue to this day At NorthStar Credit Union our members come first in everything we do It is the cornerstone upon which the credit union was built We want to earn your business not manipulate you into making this credit union your choice as a financial service provider If you are reading this message you re probably a member If you re doing most of your business with a big bank I have to ask why We have the branches the surcharge free ATM networks competitive prices and a broad array of services that enable this credit union to compete with those too big to fail banks Most important we have integrity and want to earn more of your business Make this the year you dump your big bank and move all of your business to NorthStar Jim Dean President NSCU org 630 393 7201
