Isis was important because she used powerful magic spells to help people in need. From the beginning of Egypt's history to the end, Isis was the greatest goddess of Egypt.

Bastet

The goddess of cats.  The ancient Egyptians made many statues of cats to honor Bastet.  Bastet was important because she sometimes appeared with the head of a lioness to protect the king in battle.

Horus

The god of the sky.  Horus was the protector of the ruler of Egypt.  Horus was important because after Osiris was killed by Seth, Horus fought with Seth for the throne of Egypt.  After Horus won the battle, he was chosen to be the ruler of the world of the living.

Hathor

The goddess of love, beauty, music, dance, motherhood, and joy.  Hathor was important because she protected pregnant women.  Hathor was thought to hand out good things to the dead in the afterlife, and so she was thought to be a friend to the dead.

                                              Anubis

Anubis is the Protector of the Dead. Anubis was a jackal- headed man. So he was a jackal. He was important because he helped people get to the afterlife. His most important role was guarding the Scale of Truth which determined who would make it to the afterlife. Anubis was seen as a Protector of graves in as early times as the First Dynasty.
