After 19 years in the business and a six-year stint with Los Angeles’ Patina Group, Fortunato
set out on his own to “redene the hospitality industry.” After launching the catering
company roomforty, Fortunato opened the event venue The Fig House. Realizing that more
opportunities to expand his philosophy of hospitality were presenting themselves, he then
formed the parent company, Hospitality Collaborative. With an emphasis on catering, venue
development, venue management and event stafng, Fortunato brings a fresh experience to
the world of hospitality and special events.
Fortunato’s leadership has given his employees a platform to explore the connection of
community and hospitality. To achieve their level of success, the Hospitality Collaborative
team works to capture and honor the gathering of communities at the highest level of
attention to detail. Fortunato’s foundation and philosophy for his businesses begins and ends
with a connection - a connection to being vulnerable and nurturing, that allows his guests to
be their most authentic selves.
For years, Fortunato hired Pharmacie, an elevated beverage catering company, to handle
their beverage services. Pharmacie’s founder, Talmadge Lowe, shares the same vision and
passion for hospitality as Fortunato. Over time, as Fortunato’s vision grew for creating a
hospitality organization that had multiple components, it made sense to explore bringing
Pharmacie under Hospitality Collaborative, where Fortunato and Lowe eventually became
partners in Pharmacie.
Fortunato brings a passion to elevate and redene event hospitality and has been trusted
to serve a range of high prole clients from President Bill Clinton to Jay-Z, numerous
A-list celebrities, industry leading executives and exclusive Southern California weddings.
Fortunato was voted Pasadena Magazine’s Top Forty Under 40 in 2009, and in the same year
