Welcome!
As we end one year and move forward into the next, Utica
Community Schools is here to help you with the new skills or
self-improvement resolutions you have made. The opportunities
that are offered in this brochure are designed to meet the needs
and interests for residents of all ages.
Beyond our nationally-recognized K-12 programs, the district
provides opportunities for all community members to take part
in activities to keep them active or polish up their skills. We also
offer busy parents preschool and school-age child care options
in a safe and nurturing environment.

REFUND POLICY
Unless otherwise indicated, refunds will be the amount of tuition less $10 process-
ing fee. Refunds will be granted for all classes, excluding classes that meet one or
two times, prior to the start of the 2nd class. No refunds after the second class.
Classes that meet one or two times will only be refunded prior to the start of the
class. Material, book, and disk fees will not be refunded. If a class is cancelled, a
full refund will be issued in the manner in which it was paid.
RETURN CHECK POLICY
All returned checks are subject to a $25 processing fee.
OFFICE HOURS
Office hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Call our office at 586-797-6900
for class information. Registrations will be accepted from 8:30 am -4:00 pm. Please do
not call the individual schools. The office will be closed Jan 2, 16 & April 14, May 29.
NOTIFICATION OF CLASSES
Only in the event of cancellation or change will you be notified by e-mail. Please
check location and date of your selected class. If the school is closed for any rea-
son, classes will not be held. Make-up classes will only be held if the class is can-
celled by UCS. There will be no make-up classes or refunds for classes if participants
are unable to attend.
GUIDELINES - CLASSES WITH
POTENTIAL COMMERCIAL CONTENT
Within the school property boundary, the institution should not sell products or serv-
ices from which the institution can financially benefit; however, products or servic-
es may be recommended if the instructor is not affiliated with the product.
The cost of classroom supplies sold on site by the instructor should not exceed local
retail value.
Literature, including fliers and business cards, may be made available to partici-
pants before or after class time only upon the request of the participants.

Medical Terminology
Be better prepared for a career in healthcare. Healthcare is a hot
industry. You’ll be in a better position to get a good job in a hospital,
clinic, or nursing home when you’re acquainted with the language of
the medical world. This basic course introduces the terms used in
various medical specialties. You’ll grasp the vocabulary related to
systems of the human body, diseases, pharmacy and laboratory, and
know the important abbreviations. Certificate awarded. Textbook Fee:
$99 payable by check to C.A.R at 1st class.

Pharmacy technology is an area of employment that offers vast

accurately and efficiently. Instructor is a Pharmacy Technician.

Gentle Yoga For Seniors
This class is especially designed for seniors and less flexible begin-
ners over 50. These gentle stretching poses inspire and support
