  • This happens when someone treats you worse than another person in a similar situation because of your disability.

What is the discrimination?

 

 Discriminate means to distinguish, single out, or make a distinction.

Age Discrimination

  • Age discrimination involves treating someone less favorably because of his or her age.

Race

  • Race discrimination is when you are treated unfairly because of your race.
    ‘Race’ includes colour, nationality and ethnic.

 

Current  Legislation

You’re legally protected from discrimination by the Equality Act.

 

You’re protected from discrimination:

  • at work
  • in education
  • as a consumer
  • when using public services

 

 

 

Religious

  • Religious discrimination is treating individuals differently in their employment because of their religion, their religious beliefs and practices.

Advice

If someone starts to discriminate you for some reason you should stop it and warn someone close to take the necessary steps to stop discrimination.

Actions against discrimination

You can do something voluntarily to help people with a protected characteristic. This is called ‘positive action’.

 

 

 Or we can take legal actions if someone discriminates against you.
