The "It Can wait" Campaign
AT&T's mission is to stop texting while driving, by sending the hashtag, #itcanwait. This campaign is educating the public, and especially teenagers, that no text is worth a life.
After over 200,000 deaths due to car crashes incidents in 2012, AT&T launched the "It Can Wait" campaign.
They have accomplished a lot actually. They have inspired 4 million pledges on their website, itcanwait.com. They also have created an app to help texting while driving called AT&T Drivemode. And they have made a documentary with Werner Herzog to make a strong, powerful documentary on the lives that were altered.
What has AT&T accomplished?
Well actually, there is no law, however they have revised wireless and motor vehicle policies to prohibit texting and driving. THEY ALSO HAVE INTEGRATED MESSAGES THAT OCCUR IN AT&T CATALOGS, BILLS, ETC, AT AT&T SPONSORED EVENTS. AND THEY HAVE A "DON'T TEXT-AND-DRIVE" MESSAGE ON PROTECTIVE CLINGS IN AT&T RETAIL STORES.
Are There Any Laws They Have Accomplished Due to Their Efforts?
