Building Futures- Take part in the
Lego Oscar Build Challenge
Building Futures is a team-building and
fundraising iniave of Specialisterne NI.
Specialisterne NI is a not-for-prot Social
Enterprise, that helps young people and adults on
the Ausc Spectrum develop the career,
communicaon and team-working skills, that help
people build beer futures.
Building Futures invites you to enter a team to
take part in a Building Futures Mul-company
Lego Oscar challenge or to host a Building Futures
Lego Oscar Challenge in-house.
Parcipants build Lego Oscars in small teams. The
winning team takes a Lego Oscar Statuee home
or back to the oce! The Specialisterne NI team

WHY Young People and Adults on the Ausc
Spectrum?
Social communicaon dierence and perceptual
barriers can be dicult to overcome alone.
Research suggests only 16% of adults on the
Ausc Spectrum are in full-me work. It does not
have to be this way.
A large scale general populaon study in Northern
Ireland (Dillenburger et al 2013) found that 60% of
respondents knew someone on the Ausc
Spectrum in their own family, circle of friends, or
work colleagues, which means that fundraising for
Ausm is likely to be of interest to many
employees.

WHO are Specialisterne NI
A not-for-prot social enterprise, Specialisterne NI
is part of the Specialisterne network which has
worked for 13 years in 13 countries to help adults
on the Ausc Spectrum get ready for work. Since
2014 Specialisterne NI has worked with over 300
adults, and has waing lists of people on the
Ausc Spectrum who are seeking support.
WHY Lego Oscars?
Specialisterne has used Lego since opening in 2004
to teach team working skills, and programming. In
N Ireland, our team ulise Lego to assess
communicaon and team working skills as well as
to coach managers in leadership training. We
bring this experse to your team in the Lego Oscar
challenge, which is designed to be both a fun and
useful team building experience- a win/win for
you and for the people on the Ausc Spectrum
the funds raised will support.
Building Futures Lego Oscar Build Challenge
The Lego Oscars were inspired by this Oscar,
designed by Lego Movie Co-Director Philip Lord:
We think everyone parcipang in Building
Futures are stars, hence an award is ng! A
Lego Oscars Challenge takes approximately 2
hours. Posters and sponsorship forms, and all Lego
materials are provided.
