work to create a thriving, prosperous region.
Some of the challenges include creating a workforce

attracting and retaining businesses to the county; and
ensuring that all children are ready for their rst day of

Ilene Rhodes' Monday afternoon 5th grade Judaics class
composed this poem, a ri on a poem in the Siddur Chadash.
A little less complaining when I'm doing my math
A little more eort so I'm on the right path
A little less bragging when I do really well
A little more helpful when someone else is not doing so swell
A little less mean when talking to others
A little more laughter to my sisters and brothers
A little less thoughtless when I don't care
A little more cheerful when I am being fair
A little less grumpy when I am tired
A little more kind when it is required
A little less sneaky when I am mad
A little more comfort when my friend is sad
A little less anger in our voices
A little more thought in making good choices.

Nurturing children and families
through Jewish values...one day at a time
Park
Preschool
Corner
Beresheit
As we complete one cycle of the reading of the weekly
Torah portions at the synagogue, we begin a new cycle -
Beresheit - "from the beginning." Here at the Preschool, we
are immersed in the Holiday season - Sukkot, Shmini Atzeret,
and Simchat Torah. We've blown our shofars and decorated
classroom sukkahs to prepare for a new year.
The teachers at Preschool emulate this theme of renewal
and new beginnings by recommitting to guiding our young
children and their families in a nurturing path of growth and
development.
There is a verse in the Torah that exclaims, "Be happy on
your holidays." What a concept to expect people to be happy.
Personally, I truly believe one can "learn" to be happy. Some
cognitive therapies imply that "thinking" in a happy manner
leads to actual happiness.
Let us learn to look for the happiness and joy in our lives.
Let us teach young children to appreciate our everyday
blessings. Let us model gratitude and joy in our daily lives.
May we merit to live joyfully!
Yours for Children, 
