Welcome to the first e-zine edition of TheChicagolite.com's monthly newsletter. In this issue, we discuss ways you can support Breast Cancer Awareness and I talk about the must attend events that are occurring throughout the month

Letter from the Editor

Hello my lovely subscribers! I hope you all had a good weekend. I'm recovering from some type of flu, but I didn't let staying in bed stop me from creating!  Welcome to the new and improved TheChicagolite.com newsletter. From this point forward you will be receiving an e-zine that will keep you abreast on all that is happening on the site including but not limited to event updates and giveaways. I hope you enjoy this new format. I had a lot of fun pretending to be Anna Wintour while creating this so feel free to give me some feedback. Since I had so much fun creating this, expect the next issue to be much cleaner with more features.

By now I'm sure you've all downloaded The Chicagolite App if you haven't done so, you can do so at the above link. The site is almost 9 months old so I felt that it was due for some new and exciting changes.

I'll get you up to speed if you are just now entering the world of The Chicagolite. Last month I decided to start a TCL Guide to DC. I visited my sister during Labor Day weekend and managed to squeeze in a few activities during my short stay. On the guide, you'll see a favorite among our First Family as well as my favorite Afternoon Tea to date. Well...second to The Langham but it was a close call.

The highlight event for me this month by a long shot was Lurie Children's Hospital Gold Coast Fashion Awards. This week I'll take you inside the lavish soirée. For the 60th anniversary of the awards, instead of a luncheon there were various tasting stations from some of Chicago's finest eateries. After stuffing our faces we were treated to a superb runway show curated by none other than Neiman Marcus. I also had a chat with last year's winner Tanya Taylor! She's had a whirlwind of a month with NY and PFW so it was good to catch up with her and see what's she's been up to since she last won the award.

October is a pretty hectic month in terms of events, my calendar is weeping because it is so full of back to back activities. We'll get to all of that in this issue. Without further ado, welcome to the October issue! :-)

 What's New

Mario Make Me a Model Winner: The wait is over as the winner of Mario Make Me a Model is Kaylyn Pryor! Last week the highly anticipated finale  took place at Redmoon Theater where the finalists along with professional models strutted their stuff down the runway. They donned the latest collections from Chicago designers including This is the Order, Misanthrope, and Sahar Dada. After careful deliberation, it was then decided that Kaylyn would be Chicago's next top model. Be on the lookout for Kaylyn because she'll be featured in Michigan Avenue Magazine and in some TV spots for CBS 2 Chicago. Can't wait to see what Kaylyn does next!
