Walt Disney

Everyone knows Mickey Mouse, and, well Disney it's self. It's every kids dream to go to Disneyworld or Disneyland! But do you know the man behind this? Well obviously you, do everyone knows Walt Disney! There's very little you don't know about the man. But because of this assignment I must go on.

Childhood

Everyone starts somewhere so does Walt Disney

He was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He loved to doodle and when he turned 16 he dropped out to join the military during WW1. He was denied in due to age but became a ambulance driver for the Red Cross. After the war he went to college at Kansas City.

I'm sorry I couldn't resist putting that here it's just so cute

Early Animation workings

In the early 1920's Disney and his brother Roy O. Disney and a few other employee's began making small shorts called laugh-o-grams. Though they were very popular, they had to declare bankruptcy in 1923. So the Disney Bros moved to hollywood there where they made animations about Oswald the lucky rabbit. However someone and they're husband stole the rights along with most of his employee's. But that did not stop the Bros and Iwerk Harman (One of his employee's) and all their wives (More on Disney family later) from creating a new animation. They created three all centered around a character named. Can you guess? Scrooge Mcduck! Just kidding, Mickey Mouse! Two were silent and talkies were starting to come out. So the third one Steamboat Wille came to be and started something we can all appreciate.

Early Disney

Well assuming your smart enough to know that Disney is still a big thing today, you would probably think the Steamboat Wille was a success. Well disney exploded after that, releasing films like Silly Symphonies and Flowers and Trees. They even released a Three Little Pigs movie! Many more movies came like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,Dumbo, and Bambi. Disney was on a roll!

50's Disney

The fifty's had a lot of iconic movies come out such as Cinderella, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, and more. lots more! But the 50's had more meaning than you would probably think. Not just movies came out during that time, but also a very iconic theme park. Disneyland came out in the 50's and exploded! They made so much they decided to build another park Disney world! They started working on it in the 60's but....

Disney's Death 1901-1966 a/ his Family

Walt Disney, the man who made so many iconic characters, films, etc, dies on December 15,1966. While they were working on Walt Disney world! It was of course finished afterwards but it is still incredible sad.He died due to smoking earlier in is life.(Is it just me or do a lot of famous people die to smoking? Man you think people would take a hint)

He of course had family like Roy O. Disney mentioned earlier. His father was Elias Disney a Irish Canadian while is mother Flora Call Disney was a German American,he was one of five siblings 4 boys and 1 girl. He married Lillian Disney and had two girls  Diane Disney Millar, and Sharon Mae Disney.

His Legacy

Disney is still leaving marks to this day, think Moana and the Ducktales reboot! Disney shows no sign of stopping any time soon. And it all started with a simple animation.

Thank you Walt Disney, for leaving your mark on the world
