Title One Parent Notification of Highly Qualified Staff
Annual Notification Regarding Public Release of Student
The Boise School District complies with federal law (Family
Educational Rights and Privacy Act) as it relates to the release of
student directory information to the public.
To learn more, log on to www.boiseschools.org, and go to
Parents & Patrons > Parent Information > FERPA Form. You may
also pick up a FERPA form at your school, or call the Clerk of the
Board at 208-854-4123 to obtain a copy of the FERPA form.
Federal Law requires that each school district receiving Title 1 funds must
notify the parents of each student attending any school receiving these funds
that the information regarding the professional qualifications of their child's
classroom teacher(s) may be requested.
As a parent of a student attending a school receiving federal funds, you have
the right to know:
* Is my child's teacher licensed to teach the grades and subject(s)
*Is my child's teacher teaching with a provisional license, meaning
that state has waived requirements for my child's teacher?
School dress, grooming and appearance
*What is the college major of my child's teacher?
**It is important for children to come dressed appropriately for school.
Allowing children to dress in a distracting manner lessens our chance to
maintain a good learning environment. Therefore, the guidelines below
will be followed:
-Longer length shorts, skirts and dresses are appropriate. A good ‘rule
of thumb’ to follow is they should be no shorter than mid finger length if
the student is standing with arms straight down at his/her side. We ask
that shorts only be worn in warm weather. Cut-offs are not allowed.
-Students are expected to go outside for recesses except in extreme
weather situation, so they need to be dressed accordingly.
-Halter tops, bare midriffs and ‘muscle’ shirts are distracting and not
appropriate. Tank top style shirts must have at least a two finger wide
-Shoes that allow good physical activity are best.
NO FLIP FLOPS AT SCHOOL!
Sandals that strap onto the foot around the ankle will be permitted.
-Shirts, hats, or other clothing with vulgar/obscene messages or with
advertisements for ANY alcohol, tobacco, drugs, etc. are not to be worn.
-Low riding pants and wallet chains are considered gang attire and
will not be permitted at school. Appropriate action will be taken to
eliminate this attire. Pants MUST be worn at the waist.
-Hats and hoods of any type are not to be worn inside the school.
* WE ASK THAT ADULTS FOLLOW THIS RULE
WHEN INSIDE THE BUILDING AS WELL- THANK
