CHANCE CAMP - REVIEW OF SUMMER 2016
& PLANS FOR OCTOBER HALF TERM
BOOK IN HERE
Chance camp returned during the summer holidays for 3
weeks of sporting activities. We kicked things off with 3
days of rugby followed by 2 weeks of athletics at Cockermouth RUFC and Netherhall Sports Centre. As usual the camps in
the mornings consisted of lots of learning, improving both physical and social skills. Those
skills were then implemented into a series of different competitions & challenges
in the afternoons. Once again we were lucky with the weather, and were able to
get outside on the fields. Even on the days that it did rain, everyone was determined to get outside, proving that the weather doesn't stop children taking part
in sport. All of the coaches agreed that great progress was made by the children
throughout the camps.
Once again the number of children attending Chance Camp was fantastic, with
record numbers in our final week at Cockermouth. We also had a lot of new children attending for the first time which was great, and we look forward to working with all of you again soon. The camps were a great success and we appreciate
the positive feedback coming from children and parents. Well done to everyone!
We are delighted to have a

Chance Camp Skill Videos
This summer saw Chance Camp start the skill video challenge. This was created to get children practising and perfecting their sport skills. The aim is to record your child performing their sport skills,
sending the clip in to Chance Camp. At the end of the half term, a panel of judges select a winner,
choosing the clip that has the most control or creativity. The child that wins receives a £20 Chance
Camp gift voucher, and the video gets uploaded to our website for everyone to see!
HOW TO ENTER:
Capture a young person performing a skill
2. Record skill being performed for around 10 seconds
3. Send the clip to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The winner will then be selected before October half term break and announced on our
Facebook (Chance Camp) and Twitter (@chance_camp) accounts.
Go to www.chancecamp.co.uk to see our coaches skill clips and previous winners.
Good luck everyone and get practicing!

winner, Grace Watson)
