BUILDING INFORMATION

636 Eleventh Avenue was built back in 1913 to house the Auerbach Chocolate Factory. In 2007, the building was fully renovated to become a landmark green space. It includes a roof garden, high ceilings, and glass curtain walls that give 360-degree views of the Hudson River and Midtown Manhattan on every floor. Can you still smell the chocolate?

BUILDING HOURS

Employees have 24-hour access to the building with their ID card. After hours and on weekends, employees will need their ID to access most areas, including elevators and stairwells. 

 

 

BUILDING INFORMATION

 

ELEVATORS

Passenger:

The first bank of elevators is 7-R and the first elevators on the left and right of that bank, as you come in from the street, take you to the concourse level and the roof top.

 

The second bank of elevators is 1-7 only. To connect to higher floors, cross over on the 7th floor to the first bank of elevators. The second elevators on the left and right of that bank takes you to the rooftop. 

 

Freight:

The freight elevator operates from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For reservations, please email newyork.facilities@ogilvy.com.

 

STAIRWAY ACCESS

In emergency situations, follow the instructions given over the building's PA system. The building has a total of four staircases. All staircases can be used in case of an emergency. The primary emergency exits are stairwells C and D. The alarm  will go off in case of unauthorized entry. Staircases A and B can be used to access other floors.

 

The staircases are located in the following areas:

  • Staircase A— Near the north glass doors in the 2nd - floor elevator lobby
  • Staircase B— Near the south glass doors in the 2nd - floor elevator lobby 
  • Staircase C— North side of the building, near the center of the floor
  • Staircase D— South side of the building, near the 46th St. Wall

 

 

BUILDING INFORMATION

 

FLOOR ACCESS

All Geometry employees are granted access to the concourse level, the main lobby, the 2nd floor, and the Rooftop Garden. If you wishes to access any other floor, you will need someone to accompany you. 

 

 

GUESTS & VISITORS

All visitors' names must be forwarded to Security in advance via email, at newyork.security@ogilvy.com for inclusion on the visitor roster in the main lobby. The lobby Security desk will alert the 2nd-floor reception desk upon the arrival of your guest(s), and reception will call you so you can meet your guest(s) in the 2nd-floor waiting area.

 

FOOD DELIVERIES

All deliveries must be picked up in the main lobby. Once delivery is here, the lobby Security desk will call you. 

 

 

RECYCLING GUIDELINES

No food is to be thrown into the wastepaper basket at your desk. Each floor has a recycling area in the kitchen for trash, bottles, and paper. Each printing room has recycling bins for paper.

SMOKING

Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited in all areas of the building, in the Rooftop Garden, or within 25 feet of the building.

 

You may smoke beyond 25 feet of the building. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the appropriate receptacles. 

 

PETS

No pets are allowed in the building unless for a shoot. A request must be sent to NewYork.Facilities@ogilvy.com before the animal(s) are brought into the building.

 

WINDOWS

Windows cannot be covered or obstructed in any way. No lettering, sign, notice, or object can be displayed on the interior or exterior of windows. No items (e.g., books, decorations, etc.) should be put on windowsills.

 

NOISE

Noise that may disturb other employees is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, music or the playing of musical instruments, recordings, radio, or television.

Small personal items, such as photographs, coffee mugs, and desk accessories are perfectly okay at your new work station. However, the building is not responsible for the loss of personal items, so please do not bring any valuables. All workstations and offices also have lockable cabinets, so secure personal items when away from your workspace, particularly your wallet, purse, and cell phones.

PARTIAL-BUILDING EVACUATION

If a partial-building evacuation is necessary for your floor, please remain calm and listen for instructions given by floor wardens or to messages coming over the PA system.

FULL-BUILDING EVACUATION

If a full-building evacuation is necessary, it will be done floor by floor. Please remain calm and listen to instructions. If you need assistance to evacuate, please proceed to the nearest emergency exit and wait for help. The designated Chocolate Factory assembly areas are:

 

  • High School of Graphic Communication Arts, 439 West 49th St. (between 9th and 10th Aves.)
  • Hell's Kitchen Park, 47th St. and 10th Ave

Stay in the area until you receive further instructions

Building management will conduct periodic emergency procedure drills.
