You have been referred to take part in the *Education through Community Restitution Service* program by
serving 5 hours. This program allows you to reflect on your situation while giving back to the community in a
positive way. Any service site not listed in the pre-approved list MUST BE APPROVED by
alicia.monrroy@unlv.edu in the Office of Housing & Residential Life before completing your service hours. It is
your responsibility to return the completed Restitution Log to AC's office no later than 5:00 p.m. on December 8,
2016.
You will write a Reflection Letter of Understanding on what you have learned from this experience. You must
answer the first six questions along with all questions associated with the following sanctions you were also
assigned:

additional five (5) hours of restitution service. Any service site not listed in the pre-approved list MUST BE
APPROVED by alicia.monrroy@unlv.edu in the Office of Housing & Residential Life before completing your
service hours. Please note that a hold will remain on your transcript until both the incomplete sanctions and the
additional community restitution service are completed.
Consequently, you have been assigned an additional five (5) hours of community restitution service, and a hold has been
placed on your ability to register for classes and obtain your transcripts.

University of Nevada, Las Vegas
UNDER THE INFLUENCE is an online alcohol education course.
You’ll need access to an internet connected computer and an email address.
To receive credit you must follow enrollment instructions and enter the correct Control Number.
1. Go to www.3rdmilclassrooms.com
2. Click on Begin Enrollment and choose College on the left side menu.
3. When you are directed to Enter Control Number, enter the code below.
UNLV7
Do not include payment or credit card information on the enrollment form.
You will receive your password on the screen and by email at the end of the enrollment process.
It takes less than 2.5 hours to complete the course and you can login and out as needed. Upon
completion, you and the notifying administrator at your school will receive a completion
notification by email.

The Reflection Letter of Understanding sanction is designed to engage you in thoughtful reflection
regarding your actions that led to a violation of the UNLV Student Conduct Code and what you have
learned from this experience. Please note that the purpose of this assignment is not to provide you
with a venue to justify your actions or to evaluate the actions of others. Your letter should be
composed in an appropriate manner as any essay/paper in a university classroom setting and
include the following:
