WHAT  IS  BRIEF  COACHING   Why  Coaching?       In  the  21st  century,  coaching  has  become  an   essential  part  of  leadership  and  management   skills.  Global  leaders  in  executive  education  such   as  Harvard  Business  School  and  Stanford   Graduate  School  of  Business,  and  INSEAD  not   only  provide  coaching  as  a  means  to  support   their  students  who  are  industry  leaders  but  also   have  incorporated  coaching  in  their  curriculum   as  an  integral  part  of  organizational  science.       Why  Solution-­‐Focused  Brief  Coaching?     Solution-­‐Focused  Brief  Coaching  is  an  innovative   approach  to  creating  positive  personal,  group   and  organizational  change  that  is  empirically   designed  and  evidence-­‐based.  The  solution-­‐ focused  approach  constructs  a  path  to  a  desired   future  using  the  client’s  strengths  and  resources   and  has  been  successfully  applied  across   disciplines  and  organization  types,  with   individuals,  teams  and  groups.     Currently,  there  are  more  than  1600   publications  on  the  topic.  Many  of  these   publications  include  research  studies  that   support  the  effectiveness  of  solution-­‐focused   approach  over  other  conventional  helping   methods:  22  out  of  32  randomized  controlled   studies  as  well  as  42  out  of  51  comparison   studies  showed  that  solution-­‐focused  approach   was  favourable  to  conventional  methods.     Effectiveness  data  are  also  available  from  over   6000  cases  with  a  success  rate  exceeding  60%.   (Macdonald,  2014)     Key  Benefits       The  following  research  findings  demonstrate  the   effectiveness  of  Solution-­‐Focused  approaches.     • Improvement  on  hope  and  hardiness,   Green  et  al.  (2007)     • Improvement  on  attendance  and  goal   attainment,  Spence  and  Grant  (2007)     • Significant  improvement  in  goal  striving,   well-­‐being  and  hope,  Green  et  al.  (2006)     • Enhanced  goal  attainment,  resilience  and   workplace  wellbeing,  as  well  as   decreased  depression  and  stress,  Grant   et  al.  (2009)         For more information, visit www.briefcoaching.ca

EMERGE:     Certificate  in  Solution-­‐Focused  Brief  Coaching                          6  Two-­‐Day  Modules    |            Certificate        |            Customized  Program   PROGRAM  DESCRIPTION     The  Canadian  Centre  for  Brief  Coaching  offers  two  unique  coaching  certificate  programs  to  cater  to   the  needs  of  our  clients:  a  customized  coaching  certificate  program  that  integrates  participants’   training  and  work,  and  an  intensive  coaching  training  that  can  be  completed  within  two  weeks.     The  customized  program,  abbreviated  EPIC,  is  an  in-­‐house  training  program  that  integrates   participant’s  work  and  training  with  built-­‐in  practicum  modules.         The  intensive  coaching  training,  abbreviated  BRIEF,  offers  comprehensive  training  through  four  in-­‐ class  modules  and  one  independent  learning  module  over  twelve  days.  Both  programs  are  eligible   towards  coach  certifications  by  either  ICF  or  CCPC.     TARGET  AUDIENCE     Ideal  for  emerging  leaders,  managers,  and  coaches  who  are  new  to  brief  coaching  tools.       PROGRAM  DESIGN     See  Next  Page  for  EPIC  and  BRIEF  Program  Design                   For more information, visit www.briefcoaching.ca
