Mothers Against Drunk Driving
Madd was founded in 1980 by Candace Lightner. Her daughter, Cari Lightner, was hit and killed by a drunk driver. Because of this, Candace began the campaign against drunk driving in California.
MADD's mission is to "end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking" (National Strategic Plan).
The Mothers Against Drunk Driving's focus and vision is to end drunk and drugged driving in this Nation.
MADD has pushed for the All-Offender Ignition Interlock Legislation. Their campaigning has influenced drunk driving laws throughout the Nation.
