walt disney's life in a nutshell

Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901. He and his family moved to a farm in Marceline, Missouri where he gained his interest in drawing.
After four years in Marceline, the Disneys moved to Kansas, where Walt took art classes. Eventually he got a job on a train as a snack-seller. This made him really interested in trains. When he was in high school, he took Chicago Art Institute and drew for the newspaper. He decided he wanted to help in world war I, but he was still too young. He spent the next year driving ambulances for the Red Cross in France.
After helping with the war, Walt was ready to pursue his dream in an art career! He worked at an art studio, then an advertised company. It was during this time that he met Ubbe Iwerks and learned about animation. Walt wanted to make his own animations, so he started a company called Laugh-O-Gram. He hired some of his friends including Ubbe Iwerks
