The it can wait campaign is an organization dedicated to stopping people from texting and driving. When AT&T started this organization in March of 2010 they launched a movement to help stop texting and driving as well as social media and other distractions when people drive. You can go to the website and take the pledge today and help stop texting and driving.Their mission statement is that it: "No text is worth a life…It Can Wait. " Texting and driving was estimated to be involved in more than 200,000 crashes as of 2012, most of the time involving either death or injuries.

Here are some statistics that will show you how dangerous texting and driving really is:
.As of 2011, at least 1.3 million automotive accidents involved cell phones.
.Five seconds is the minimal time your eyes are taken off of the road when you text and drive. If you are traveling at 55 miles per hour, that equals driving the length of a football field!
.Drivers age 18-20 that have been involved in car accidents say that they were texting or talking on their mobile device at the time of the crash.
. Teens who text and drive spend about 10% of their driving time outside of their lane.
