From the West From The South Greetings from the West I would like to start off by saying congratulations to our new newly initiated Entered Apprentices Welcome to your new Lodge and I commend your decision to join us Also to Mark Stewart our Junior Warden excellent job I was personally impressed on the work done by all the officers and conductors It shows we all care on maintaining that high standard that makes us Fort Myers Beach Lodge One thing we should always remember is the esoteric meanings in our degrees not to be explained outright but emphasized so as the real journey for our new initiates can truly begin All of us as Masons know this for these are the reasons we continue to support our Lodges participate in education every once in awhile and enjoy deep conversations when we do meet It s the esoteric work that motivates us to research and read more in depth of our Fraternity and it s history We get online and google whatever questions that may arise in us and even share our findings with our brethren via e mail facebook twitter It s the journey itself towards light that is a constant motivation in all of us I believe the more we search for knowledge and enlightenment the more it shows in our degree work I was especially impressed when before we opened up for our meeting that one of our new E A s not going through the degree just yet proceeded to tell me about Masonic History that he researched Moments like that really inspire me to delve back into the books and sparks me back into research mode so to speak When we take the time to read and research we take our findings and share with our Brothers and continues to motivate each other to stay on the path of Masonic enlightenment This aspect of Freemasonry I embrace It s these little moments that will stay with me forever May peace be with you and our Great Architect always guide you Derek Vaneske S W I would like to congratulate our newly initiated brothers Chris Maslowski Aldo Vargas Parker Wunderlich and John Troia I hope they grow and flourish in their new journey into Freemasonry Anyone that would like to help teach Entered Apprentice catechism please let me know Memorization of words is simply not enough Memorization coupled with a true understanding of that which is memorized becomes Masonic wisdom and will provide an infinite benefit to you throughout your Masonic life I hope everyone had a good October and glad to see everyone back in lodge for the season and hope everyone has a great November as we get into all the holidays As the year comes to an end I would like to say thankyou to everyone for believing in me and supporting my growth in the lodge I m ready to move on and up to senior warden next year and pass on the cooking duties to someone else I would also like to give a big thanks to Vinny and Steve for being my kitchen staff this year I wouldn t have been able to do it without them Mark Stewart Junior Warden
