The Atom was born when Dr. Ray Palmer, billionaire scientist, found dwarf star alloy using this impressive material to fuel a super-suit. The suit gives him the ability to fly and shoot concentrated light beams. The suit also allows Dr. Palmer to shrink down to the size of a blood cell or grow to the height of a skyscraper. Using this he can spy on enemies and travel quickly through pipes, through bloodstreams, on other people, and on animals. His incredibly strong intellect also proves useful when using his size to redirect circuits and perform other technological feats.
Originally Dinah Drake, Black Canary passed down the responsibility to her daughter Laurel Lance. When Laurel, age 19, decided to follow in her mother's footsteps she had an edge on her enemies; Laurel was born with a metagene giving her a sonic scream attack. She named this the Canary Cry and took her mother´s suit to go fight crime. She then founded the Justice League and Birds of Prey as her mother had created the Justice Society of America.
Vic Stone would have never imagined what was coming for him until one fateful day. When Vic was severely injured in a car crash, his dad replaced most of his body with cybernetic parts. They not only kept him alive but gave him amazing super powers. These abilities include super strength, advanced weaponry, and incredible endurance. He was a strong member of the Teen Titans until he joined the Justice League.
Doomsday was an experiment by an insane Kryptonian scientist. This scientist wanted a killing machine so he had a creature cloned and killed over and over making it evolve in a cruel and twisted way. Eventually, it was unable to be hurt by anything the scientist killed him with. He survived the explosion of Krypton and landed on earth. Like other beings from Krypton, he gained even more power from earth's yellow sun. Using this unstoppable force Doomsday was even able to kill Superman.
Enchantress´ energy comes to her when she says the word, ´enchantress´. She originally tried to use this magic for good, but it started having an unexpected side effect. It was taking over for evil when it was activated. Her magic has no limits because all she has to do is say or think something and her magic temporarily creates illusions that really affect others. When she controls her inner energy she fights alongside the Justice League.
When project F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M went terribly wrong it created the nuclear man, who after discovering his abilities became the superhero Firestorm. The project created a matrix which fused together Ronnie Raymond and Jason Rusch. They learned how to control the Matrix, using it to heat molecules turning them into something else, throw balls of fire, and fly. They also learned how to split and reform. When Jason died the Matrix passed on to professor Martin Stein creating the hero firestorm once again. This ability to pass the Matrix onto others makes Firestorm nearly impossible to defeat.
Grodd was a giant gorilla born with telepathy and a longing to lead. His story begins in Gorilla City, where he stood out from the crowd because of his abilities. Finally, he couldn't take the tormenting; He used his telepathy to control his fellow gorillas and force them to act as his army. His plan was to bring peace by ending human life and allowing gorillas (him) to rule the earth. The Flash thwarted his plan and banished him to another universe. That universes version of earth had a perfect place for Grodd; It was home to another city full of gorillas ready to be ruled. Grodd soon returned to get revenge on the Flash with his army in tow.
Ever since he was a kid, Mick Rory loved to watch things burn. One day he even started a fire that burned down his house, while lighting a match at night. He ran out of his house and watched it burn to the ground with his parents still sleeping inside, killing them. This traumatic event made him become a master criminal to hide his feelings. He took on the name Heat Wave when he stole a compact flamethrower from S.T.A.R. Labs to help him fend off the police on his heists.
Iceman has an incredible influence over ice. He can freeze the moisture in the air into any shape either away from him or as part of his body. Using this power he can also regenerate with just some water vapor in the air. He is also able to melt into running water as a fast method of travel. His freezing comes from his being a mutant and an important part of the X-Men
The Justice League is a team of some of the best superheroes of all time; The Flash running with superhuman speed; Cyborg with his robot power; Batman fighting with athletic skill; Superman using his alien gifts; Green lantern boosted by his alien ring; Wonder Woman battling with her warrior spirit; Aquaman controlling the sea; and lastly Martian Manhunter with his shape-shifting abilities. These are the main heroes that make up the Justice League. Together they create the most powerful force of good ever seen.
White as snow, Krypto the Superdog is the most powerful and loyal pet in the superhero world. When Kal-El (Superman) was a baby Krypto was his best friend on Krypton. Later, after the destruction of Krypton, Krypto landed on earth and found Kal-El, who had been sent to earth before his planet’s end, with his new name: Superman. Then Krypto gained the name Superdog after Superman discovered that Krypto had also gained superpowers from earth’s yellow sun and made him his sidekick.
Lex Luthor is an insane, but intelligent, supervillain. He started out as a businessman who became the best of the best through bribery, murder, and intimidation. Then when Superman arrived all his fame was stolen from him and he got mad. He discovered a rock from Krypton that took away Superman’s life force when it was close to him and tried to convince the people that Superman could turn and kill humans. No one listened because superman kept on saving people. Insanely bent on revenge, Lex took matters into his own hands and built weapons to kill Superman, becoming Superman's worst enemy.
Magneto is an incredibly powerful, and dangerous, member of the X-Men. He was born a mutant with the power to create and control magnetic fields. He was feared by humans so he helped start the X-Men. When he shared his view, that mutants should rule humans, with the other X-Men he was shunned from even them. Enraged, he met the evil Apocalypse and joined him to rule over humans. They were defeated by the X-Men and Magneto rejoined. Magneto’s magnetic fields gave him control over metallic objects and flight using earth's poles.
Dick Grayson was a member of a circus family before he was a great hero. When his family was murdered he wanted to fight for justice. Seeing this spirit in the orphan, Batman adopted him and trained him to become Robin, Batman’s sidekick. After a few years playing second fiddle to Batman wore down on him and he went off on his own. Giving himself the name Nightwing he tried to become as good a hero as Batman without being as socially disconnected.
Owl is often found leading criminal organizations with his skills. He has many ties to gangs and black markets and is a superpowered robber. His ability to glide short distances, rotate his head 360 degrees, and independently moving eyes make him a perfect scout for any heist. He also has super hearing and sight, including night vision. This makes him a good criminal and a formidable foe for heroes like Daredevil.
Pamela Isley was an extremely smart biochemist who was subjected to unjust experiments. They gave her many twisted traits. The traits include the ability to influence plants, release pheromones that control people's minds, and secrete toxins through her skin. Painful to the touch like poison ivy, she can even kill with just a tap . The experiments also made her think plants had more right to live than humans.
Quicksilver was a mutant with superhuman speed, giving him many other abilities. Using his speed he could glide short distances. He could also make cyclones and dodge gunfire. After losing his speed he went into the Terrigen Mists making him not only run fast again but vibrate so fast he travels forward in time. He can only stay in the future as long as he’s vibrating and once he tires he returns to the present.
Raven was a half demon-half azarath daughter of Trigon the Terrible raised in hell. She longed to be a normal human but any strong emotion lets her demon side loose and causes destruction. She uses the spirit of azarath to fight evil including her father. She fights alongside the Teen Titans, using azarath´s magic, considering them her only true family. Raven fights for forgiveness for her father.
As a child Scarecrow was put through fear experiments by his father. These experiments scarred him and slowly made him insane. One day he realized he could stop being afraid if he controlled it. He created a toxin that triggered others panic instinct and a mask that looked creepy and used it to terrorize people. When the mask and the toxin went together people’s imaginations made it scarier than before. This made him a challenge to defeat even for Batman.
Once admired as Harvey Dent, Two-Face is one of the most dangerous and unpredictable villains of all time. Harvey was the district attorney for Gotham. One day a villain burned half of his face off. This made him give up on trying to do good instead, turning to evil. He started killing people based on flipping a coin and chance. He believes that life is just a game of chance so he can kill on that chance too. He is very hard to defeat because of his addiction to chance.
Ultron is an incredibly strong and durable robot. He has super strength, flight, and the ability to make copies of himself. He is constructed out of a material called vibranium which is near indestructible though his insides are delicate machinery. His burning desire to take over and destroy everything makes him use his power in evil ways. He is a very capable enemy of the Avengers and is one of the most destructive items ever built.
Vandal Savage was born before recorded history. At one point he came in contact with a radioactive meteor making him immortal. It also enhanced his agility and strength. He put himself right up front in some of the earth’s greatest failures. He worked tirelessly to bring down civilization and make humans turn to him for leadership.
As a princess, Wonder Woman grew up, as a warrior, on an island far from modern civilization. She ruled over the Amazons of Greek myth. Her rule ended when a fighter pilot crashed onto her island. Wonder Woman decided to escort the man back home. When she got to the modern societies she was impressed. Choosing to stay there, she decided to help defend the world, using her lasso of truth, magic wristbands, and Amazon weaponry, by joining the Justice League. She became a hero to both modern people and her Amazonian tribe.
X-51 was created by the US government as the 51st part of an artificial super soldier program. Dr. Stack, a mechanic building the robots, Knew they would only act human if they were treated like one so he snuck X-51 out and raised him as his own child. The US government activated all the robots’ self-destruct features and Dr. Stack was killed while trying to disable it. To honor Stack, X-51 assumed a new identity as Aaron Stack. He became able to fit in like Dr. Stack wanted but when he was needed he stepped up to fight evil.
Yondu was one of the most powerful contributors and a founder of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He started out as a hunter for the Zatoan tribe on Centauri IV. One day an astronaut named Vance Astro crashed down on Centauri IV. Astro came across Yondu after the Badoon invaded the planet. This brought them together and they defeated the Badoon army. Soon after they founded the Guardians of the Galaxy, a ragtag group of misfit heroes that adventure the universe saving people (and aliens).
Hunter Zolomon was scarred as a child when he found out his father was a serial killer and had murdered his mom. Later a lab accident killed his father-in-law. As if that wasn’t enough he was paralyzed by Gorilla Grodd. He begged his good friend the Flash to go back in time and save him but the Flash refused. That made Hunter try bringing himself back in time which created an explosion that made him faster than the Flash. He set out to cause tragedy early in heroes’ lives to make them perform better, calling himself Zoom.
Amazons- The Amazons of Greek legend were a group of women who thought of men as work animals and only kept them for labor and to give birth.
Aquaman- Aquaman is the king of Atlantis and a member of the Justice League. He has the power to talk to sea creatures and control water.
Batman- Batman is the leader of the Justice League. His athletic skill and high tech gadgets set him apart from the rest.
Green Lantern- Green Lantern was recruited by a group of space protectors who gave him a power ring. He is also a member of the justice league.
Guardians of the Galaxy- The Guardians of the Galaxy are a team of misfit heroes and former criminals. They travel space protecting those in need and saving the universe.
Glossary of Heroes
Krypton- Krypton is a planet that was destroyed when its resources were overused. Few survived the explosion but those who found their way to earth discovered special powers unlocked by the yellow sun.
Kryptonite- A material from Krypton that blocks the powers of those from its planet.
Superman- Superman is a survivor of the explosion of Krypton with superhuman powers. He is a strong member of the Justice League and perfect for out of this world missions.
Teen Titans- The Teen Titans are a team of young heroes inspired by the Justice League. They include Robin, Raven, Cyborg, Starfire, and Beastboy.
The Flash-The Flash is a metahuman with super speed abilities. He can travel between worlds and travel through time to save people from all eras and universes.
X-Men- The X-Men are a team of mutants with powers unimaginable to regular humans. They save the world and fight other mutants who believe in a war against humans.

Marvel's version of Enchantress came out in April 1964. She is a villain from Asgard intent on marrying Thor. She uses her charm to rid her enemies and become the Queen of Asgard.
DC's take on Enchantress came out in April 1966. She was an innocent girl with hidden abilities. As stated earlier in the book her power consumed her. This power made her do evil things against her will.
