THE GROWING DEMAND FOR
PROJECT SERVICE CAPABILITIES
In an attempt to reduce downtime and increase profitability, Viking
Electric customers often ask; “How can Viking help make our projects
more efficient and effective?” These types of questions have led Viking
Electric to partner with customers and provide customized project
services to meet these needs.
Viking has long been providing custom delivery options. Every project
is different and Viking has the capability to organize and ship only the
material that is needed, when it is needed - throughout the duration
of the project. However, Viking can also inspect, store, organize,
repackage and assemble jobsite material according to project needs.
These services can be of great benefit to customers who may not
want to spend valuable time managing freight claims, assembling
components or rummaging through multiple skids to find specific
items on the jobsite.
One of the newer services that Viking provides to customers is the
use of our custom project carts. The original intent of these carts was
to provide a better way for customers to receive and transport multiple

recessed troffers on the jobsite. However, in response to some unique
customer requests, Viking now provides carts that carry recessed cans
and trims, emergency exit fixtures, surface mount linear, under-cabinet,
and other types of lighting fixtures and components. Viking can also
provide lockable job carts that contain a customizable inventory of
electrical supplies for a project.
The demand for these project carts continues to increase as our
customer-partners realize the benefits including reduced labor times
for receiving, transporting and installing fixtures and other components.
In addition, the significant reduction in packaging waste can help
customers obtain points for LEED certifications.
As Viking continues to partner with customers to provide these
services, projects will become more efficient and profitable. Viking
customers will be able to more efficiently complete projects and move
onto the next one. This is largely because everyone involved in a project
is only completing work in their area of expertise. In short, Viking
associates can focus on supplying, handling and organizing the project
material, and our customers can continue doing what they do best.
