Why do we close our eyes when pray , cry , kiss or dream ?
Because the most beautiful things in life are not seen ,
But felt by the heart.

Venus of Milo

Aphrodite was the goddess of love, desire, and beauty . Apart from her natural beauty , she also wore a magical girdle that compelled everyone to desire her.

she arose from the sea on a giant scallop, after Cronus castrated Uranus and tossed his severed genitals into the sea.

her holy tree was the myrtle, and her holy birds were the dove, swan and sparrow.

Aphrodite represented eros, affection, and the attraction that binds people together

Hermes of Olymbia: marble state by Praxiteles ca.350-330 bc Hermes was the Greek god of commerce, son of Zeus and Maia

Quick acting and cunning, he was able to move swiftly between the world of man and the world of gods, acting as a messenger of them.

he was protector of travellers ,and athletes. He occasionally tricked the other gods for his own amusement or in an effort to protect humans.

Apollo was the Olympian god of the sun and light, music and poetry, healing and plagues, prophecy and knowledge, order and beauty, archery and agriculture. The god of  harmony, truth and moderation personified, a perfect blend of physical superiority and moral virtue.

Peplos Kore of Acropolis : a statue of a girl and one of the most well-known examples of Archaic Greek art.

The young female with the sweet smile was sculpted by an artist from Chios around 530 bc

The name of the statue comes from peplos ,a type of robe or shawl-like fabric draped over the figure and kore ,a girl or young female

Hygeia : the goddess of health dated ca.360 bc,

Zeus of Artemision : found at the bottom of the sea in north Euboea ca. 460 bc.

The bronze statue is one of the few preserved original works of the Severe Style, notable for the exquisite rendering of motion and anatomy. It is certainly the work of a great sculptor of the early Classical period.

Zeus, the presiding deity of the universe and the ruler of the skies and earth, was regarded by the Greeks as the dod of all natural phenomena in the sky.He was the personification of the laws of nature, ruler of the state, and finally ,father of gods and men.

Athena : the Greek virgin goddess of reason ,intelligent activity, arts and literature.
