I’m always on the lookout for new tools that our customers can use
to help increase efﬁciencies and improve their bottom line. Because I’m
an eBusiness Specialist, in many cases the answers come in the form
of implementing one or more of Viking Electric’s eSolutions. However,
sometimes the answer can be as easy as using our website or mobile app
to perform those simple, every day tasks.
With this idea in mind, Viking has introduced a digital calculator that can
help customers to estimate how much cost savings can be realized by using
Viking online to complete some very common, daily tasks.
For example, we have estimated that checking a price online takes an
average of 30 seconds of your time, while calling your local City Desk or
your salesperson to check a price can take an average of 3.5 minutes. The
numbers are similar if you want to check on a product’s availability.
Furthermore, the average time spent locating a spec sheet online takes
about 30 seconds, but it will take closer to 8 minutes using traditional

Tim Burns joined the Viking Electric team on February 12, 2018, as
the new West Region eBusiness Specialist. Tim has diverse and strong
business experience as the founder/owner of a successful workwear
distribution company. He brings 10+ years of experience as a leader who
is focused on helping customers grow their businesses, while ensuring
complete customer satisfaction.
Tim and his wife, Mary Beth, have four children and a Golden Retriever
named Sully. Originally from the urban East Coast, Tim enjoys ﬁshing and
hunting in the wide open spaces of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
