American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
The ASPCA was founded in 1866 by Henry Bergh in New York after Henry stopped a carriage driver from beating his fallen horse.

Where is the focus headed...
"...the United States is a humane community in which all animals are treated with respect and kindness." - ASPCA Vision
10,578 animals were rescued or assisted
4,290 animals were adopted from ASPCA adoption centers
$14 million was donated to animal welfare organizations
The ASPCA provides full support for all animal cruelty prevention laws and legislation, by hosting marches and organizing rallies. The ASPCA has not had any laws passed specifically by them, but have worked hard to provide support for all other animal laws.
