UNICEF's mission statement: UNICEF is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
Where is their focus heading?

-- 6/8 goals relate directly to children and UNICEF's work is central to meeting them. UNICEF’s work can be grouped into five main strategic areas. All together they make a difference for children by supporting the Millennium Summit Declaration and the world’s work toward the goals. The 48 indicators of progress toward the goals, UNICEF is responsible for progress in 13.
