If you give Bethany a dollar, then she will put in her wallet.

If she puts the dollar in her wallet, then she will have one more dollar her wallet.

If she has one more dollar in her wallet, then she can spend a dollar on a pack of Spearmint Extra gum.

If she spends a few cents on a pack of Spearmint Extra gum, then she will have 15 pieces of gum.

If she has 15 pieces of gum, then she can have a piece of gum for each day.

If she has a piece of gum each day, then she hits the final piece of gum on the 15th day

If she hits the final piece of gum on the 15th day, then she will savor this piece of gum.

If she savors this piece of gum, then this piece of gum will last longer.

If this piece of gum lasts longer, then she will want to buy more gum.

If she buys another pack of gum, then she will have to take another dollar out of wallet.

If she takes another dollar from  her wallet, then she will have one dollar less than she had.

Once she has one dollar less than she had, then she will not have enough money to buy a pack of gum.

If she does not have enough money to buy another pack of gum, then she will be sad.

If she is sad then she cannot keep up with her other tasks.

Applying the Law of Syllogism:

If you give Bethany a dollar, then she cannot keep up with her other tasks.
